Black will look awful. You don’t have to spend a lot of money on shoes. Go to Payless or something.

I think they’d have to be VERY fancy, elegant shoes. I know most people won’t even see your shoes (if your dress is long enough), but you don’t want regular black pumps or whatever peeking out from under your wedding gown.

dont wear black shoes. People will notice. Its your wedding. Splurge! haha. You could go with flats.
Depending on the venue you could do it bare footed. target.com has some good ones on sale.

    No way…

Not unless it’s a really huge hairpin that can be seen from the front as well as the back… though that that point it would be more of a hat.

The only way you’re going to get away with black shoes with an ivory dress is if you incorporate some black into the dress itself. Either black trim, or a black wrap/shawl.

White, you might get away with. But not black. Just go to PayLess, get a cheap pair of shoes and toss them when you’re done. I’ve never paid more than $14 at PayLess for anything. Unless your dress is a short style, people are only going to see the tips of them anyway.

I wouldn’t wear black shoes that day because they will stick out. You want your photos to turn out amazing for your special day, so you will want everything to match perfectly. My advice would be to get matching or even white shoes. Go to Payless and just buy some cheap ones or even ask around and see if a friend has some you can borrow.

I wouldn’t wear a black hairpiece. But no one will see your shoes if you have a floor length gown. Also colored bridal shoes are a big trend.

Generally speaking, you should not wear darker shoes than your dress.

However, that doesn’t mean much in the real world. It’s your wedding, you can wear anything that you want.

As someone else stated, colored shoes are popular.

If you want to do a black and white color scheme, black shoes and a black and ivory hairpin might look really hip, unique and cool. It’s all about your personal style and taste.

I’m not the traditional wedding type of girl, and my gown was pink. It worked for me. I changed into furry white boots for our outdoor photos (holiday winter wedding). Guests loved them.

If you want to wear black shoes, and it suits your personal and wedding style, go for it.

Nobody is going to sit around and discuss your shoes all night (if they can even see them) and if they do in a negative way, they don’t deserve to be at your wedding.

Do what you want, and don’t worry about it.

That said, if you are going for a very traditional look, and your style is traditional, you may want to consider buying a cheap pair of white shoes. Your wedding, your choice. Only you know what works best for you. Your call.

    Good luck!

Black shoes will never look good with an ivory dress. No amount of accessories will make those shoes work with an ivory dress. I recommend looking for ivory shoes that are dyeable. This way, you can dye then to another color after the wedding, perhaps to a color that matches aq sexy cocktail dress you already own? Check out http://www.myshoeconnection.com, they have a huge selection of dyeable shoes and you can even ask them for recommendations.

The shoes will stick out in kind of an obvious way.
A hairpin just isn’t enough to tie the black shoes in to the look.

You might be able to get away with black shoes if you add a black sash to the dress.

No, black will not look good. Why not buy ivory shoes. Surely cream is a colour you would wear again.
